120 Years after issuing its first edition, the biggest newspaper in the Netherlands celebrates with a tablet application with which users can buy vintage papers. To promote the app, we developed a trivia game in which decisive events and fun facts from the past are featured. The responsive web design works on any device.

Wireframe sketches for Telegraaf 120 Spel | Wireframes for mobile game interaction design and user experience

Studio Stomp, an Amsterdam online agency was short on people and involved me for the game design. Together with their team, I refined the ideas about the game and its social networks integration into a concept design.

When the project was given a go, I created interaction flow charts, wireframes and developed prototypes to test timing and animations. Studio Stomp consecutively hired me for the games’s visual design. I applied the styling that is used in the aforementioned tablet app and added new elements to create a old-timey game experience. The final visuals I presented in HTML + responsive CSS3 for quick implementation by the web development team.

Of course, the game was promoted big time in the online version of De Telegraaf. Do you speak Dutch? Play the game and share your score with your friends!
